This quick reference sheet cuts out the math when cleanings kettles, fermenters and kegs.

Corny Kegs and Carboys / Demijohns

  • Kegs, carboys and fermenters are 19 litres or 5 gallons
  • Kettles are 57 litres or 15 gallons
  • Imperial measurements are in the U.S.A. standard

PBW

  • Metric: 319 grams
  • Imperial: 11-1/4 ounces

Sodium Percarbonate

  • Metric: 95 grams
  • Imperial: 3-3/4 ounces

StarSan

  • Metric: 30 millilitres
  • Imperial: 1 fluid ounce

Kettles

PBW

  • Metric: 425 – 830 grams for a 57 litre kettle
  • Imperial: 15 – 30 ounces for a 15 gallon kettle

Sodium Percarbonate

  • Metric: 570 grams
  • Imperial: 15 – 30 ounces
